How to use your silicone dariole moulds
I honestly cannot get enough of my silicone dariole moulds. Currently, everything I cook is in cute little individual portions! I just love how versatile they are and how easy they are to look after, and I’m so proud of the quality of them.
The thing that makes these moulds really special is the premium quality. They’re made with 100% food grade silicone and are totally BPA free, so you know you’re keeping you and your family safe. I’ve made sure they’re the perfect combination of sturdy and flexible to suit all of your cooking needs, and to give you fantastic results every time.
I’m such a fan of these silicone dariole moulds that I thought I’d put together a guide on how to use your set, to ensure you get the very most out of them. Let’s go!
Sweet or savoury?
The first thing that springs to mind when you see these silicone dariole moulds is probably pudding, custard or panna cotta, and I can’t blame you! The sweet treats you can whip up in these moulds are out of this world. For example, I have the most amazing recipe for individual sticky date puddings on my blog, which I just can’t get enough of.
But have you ever thought about the savoury possibilities you could make with your dariole moulds? They are perfect for steaming mini quiches, pâtés and terrines, and they also create the most amazing pizza scrolls!
The great thing about silicone is that it doesn’t hold on to flavour, which is why silicone products like straws continue to take off!
Bake, steam, freeze!
I mentioned earlier about the versatility of these moulds, and that’s something I really love. Because of their great quality, there are so many different ways you can use them! They are designed to fit perfectly in the Varoma of your TM31, TM5, and TM6, and make some incredible steamed food. The pizza scrolls recipe on my blog is a great example, or my naughty chocolate coffee panna cotta...
The dariole moulds are also totally oven safe, meaning you can create quiches and pies in them so easily and work perfectly when paired with other silicone baking accessories like baking mats. Want to cool down? Your moulds are also freezer safe, so imagine the semifreddos you could make for your next dinner party! My mouth is watering already…
Grease them before use
The silicone used to make these dariole moulds is naturally non-stick, so you’ll find you’ll have little trouble getting food out of them - for example, with silicone ice lolly moulds, you can simply press the bottom of the mould and your food will pop right out. When you’re working with something delicate, however, like a beautiful fluffy soufflé, it’s a good idea to grease the inside of the moulds before use. You can use butter or oil, whichever you prefer - this just ensures that your beautiful food stays the correct shape and slides out without fuss!
When making a yummy panna cotta, however, I have a different trick that doesn’t involve greasing your moulds. Interested? Read on!
Prepare your moulds with cold water
This is such a great trick when it comes to making panna cotta, and is one I swear by. Before you pour your delicious panna cotta mixture into your moulds, simple rinse them through with icy cold water. Don’t worry about drying them afterwards - the chilly water really helps to release the panna cottas super easily once they’re cooked. This will mean you won’t need to grease the moulds, so you don’t compromise the panna cotta’s lovely delicate flavour.
How to clean
By now you’ve probably figured out just how great these moulds are, but we’ve only just now come to my favourite thing about them: they’re totally dishwasher safe! I don’t think anyone will argue with me when I say that cleaning up is the worst part about cooking, so I am all for anything that I can just pop in the dishwasher and forget about.
A lot of the time, however, you’ll find you won’t even need to use your dishwasher to clean up your moulds. Because they’re naturally non-stick, food slides out of them easily, leaving little to no residue. Often a rinse and a wipe will be enough to get your dariole moulds looking good as new once again!
More must-have silicone accessories
The dariole moulds aren’t the only thing in my shop made from such high-quality silicone! In fact, you could say I’m going a bit silicone mad! I just love how versatile it is, how easy it is to clean, and most importantly, the reusable factor - I’m really trying to cut down on my impact on the environment, and silicone products are the perfect solution. They can be used again and again, and hold their quality so well.
Whether you are rolling out a pastry or baking a bread, you can use these silicone baking mats to keep your surface clean, as a reusable baking sheet, or even to roll up your favourite Swiss roll. It is a fantastic work surface for rolling out pastry, kneading dough or cutting out cookies, as well as acting as a naturally non-stick sheet for your oven. They come in two sizes and each mat has handy centimetre guides for common cake tin sizes so that you can roll out a tart pastry or wraps to perfection. You can get these silicone mats separately or buy both the small and large size in a bundle to save some cash.
From refreshing sorbets to irresistible ice creams, these moulds are the absolute best way to make the yummiest ice lollies all year round. These moulds have been designed to create flawless ice lollies every time, and the high-quality non-stick silicone means releasing your end product from the moulds has never been easier. I, personally, have been using these moulds left, right and centre this summer! I just love them.
Do you want to reduce your environmental impact, but also don’t want to compromise on quality or convenience? These fantastic reusable silicone straws are the perfect answer.
